Community Guidelines NEWYU is a forum designed to facilitate open discussion among those interested in the Yugoslav political project, culture, and society. The list has many subscribers whose politics and specific areas of scholarly interest vary along with the knowledge, experience, and values they bring to our discussions. While we won’t and need not agree on everything, we do need to conduct ourselves in a respectful and professional manner. Our community guidelines are modeled on those developed by SEELANGS. Personal attacks, insults, pejorative slurs, or language that demeans or belittles other individuals or groups will not be tolerated. Subscribers who engage in any form of harassment on- or off-list will have their access to the list rescinded. Moderators reserve the right to remove users whose behavior violates the list guidelines. Please remember that a scholarly interest in the Yugoslav project, its legacies and ongoing relevance, is what brings people to the list. However, not every post will contain a question or comment fitting neatly under that heading. If you are concerned that someone has posted something falling too far from the list’s central purpose, do not write to the entire list to express your objection. Instead, allow that there may be some differences in what subscribers expect to see on NEWYU. Please address your concerns directly to the list moderators here. If you no longer wish to be on the NEWYU listserv, please email N[email protected]. |
